Hyperoside Attenuates Zearalenone-induced spleen injury by suppressing oxidative stress and inhibiting apoptosis in mice

Weifeng Zhu et al.

Summary: The study found that hyperoside inhibited spleen injury caused by zearalenone through its antioxidant and anti-apoptotic effects. This provides a new treatment option for immune system diseases caused by zearalenone.

Microbial detoxification of mycotoxins in food and feed

Hongwen Xu et al.

Summary: Mycotoxins are metabolites produced by fungi in food or feed that can be toxic to both humans and animals. Traditional methods for detoxification have limitations, leading to an urgent need for new technologies to effectively control mycotoxins. Microbial detoxification technology has been widely used in recent years due to its high efficiency, low toxicity, and strong specificity.

Immunotoxicity and uterine transcriptome analysis of the effect of zearalenone (ZEA) in sows during the embryo attachment period

Dengying Gao et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of Zearalenone exposure on the immune regulation and embryo implantation in sows. The results showed that Zearalenone had an impact on immunoglobulins, cytokines, and metabolic pathways. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the immune response to Zearalenone exposure in early pregnant sows during the embryo implantation window.

Zearalenone Induces Apoptosis and Cytoprotective Autophagy in Chicken Granulosa Cells by PI3K-AKT-mTOR and MAPK Signaling Pathways

Yifeng Zhu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of Zearalenone (ZEA) on chicken granulosa cells and found that ZEA inhibited cell growth by inducing apoptosis and promoting autophagy. Autophagy delayed apoptosis in ZEA-treated cells, reducing cytotoxicity. The results also showed that ZEA stimulated autophagy through PI3K-AKT-mTOR and MAPK signaling pathways in chicken granulosa cells.

Efficacy of lactic acid bacteria supplementation against Fusarium graminearum growth in vitro and inhibition of Zearalenone causing inflammation and oxidative stress in vivo

Jalila Ben Salah-Abbes et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that Lactobacillus plantarum can effectively suppress the growth of Fusarium graminearum and the production of Zearalenone, reducing oxidative stress and inflammation caused by ZEN in mice. The Lactobacillus strain shows significant anti-toxin properties against ZEN, making it a potential candidate for reducing ZEN toxicity in food and feed.

Mycotoxin Zearalenone Attenuates Innate Immune Responses and Suppresses NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation in LPS-Activated Macrophages

Po-Yen Lee et al.

Summary: ZEA suppresses macrophage-mediated innate immunity activated by LPS, attenuating the production of proinflammatory mediators and cytokines, inhibiting inflammatory signaling pathways, and repressing inflammasome activation. This suggests that ZEA-contaminated food intake may decrease innate immunity and increase adverse effects during infection.
