Dynamic behaviour of flax fibre-reinforced polymer pipes subjected to harmonic excitation

Saeed Eyvazinejad Firouzsalari et al.

Summary: The study investigates the substitution of flax fibres for synthetic fibres in fibre-reinforced polymer composites for more sustainable industrial practices, including the manufacturing and testing of three flax FRP pipes with different wall thicknesses under various conditions. Experimental and finite element modelling results show different strain distributions in the pipes under different conditions.

Bending behaviour of flax fabric-reinforced epoxy pipes

Saeed Eyvazinejad Firouzsalari et al.

Summary: The experimental results showed that increasing the diameter and number of fabric layers of FFRE pipes can enhance their bending stiffness and maximum bending moment, giving them greater deformation capabilities compared to pipes made from synthetic fiber composites while maintaining comparable maximum bending moments. The FFRE pipes also demonstrated no water seepage beyond pipe failure, indicating their significant potential as a viable alternative to conventional materials.

Indentation response of pressurized sandwich pipes filled with cement composite under lateral loading

Feng Wan et al.

Summary: The study investigates the denting behavior of sandwich pipes in deepwater environment through numerical simulations and parametric studies, revealing the influence of factors such as internal and external pressure, tip radius, width and orientation of the denting tool on the pipe's denting response.

Experimental study of flax fabric-reinforced epoxy pipes subjected to internal pressure

Saeed Eyvazinejad Firouzsalari et al.

Summary: The substitution of flax fibre for synthetic fibres in fibre-reinforced polymers in the construction industry is effective for achieving sustainability. Internal pressure testing on FFRE pipes showed that the diameter and number of flax fabric layers have a significant impact on pipe strains related to leakage and bursting.

Environmentally friendly recycling system for epoxy resin with dynamic covalent bonding

Hsing-Ying Tsai et al.

Summary: This study introduces an environmentally friendly recycling system for epoxy resin using glutathione, which enables the regeneration of new epoxy materials with approximately 90% of initial mechanical strength. It provides a new perspective on the decomposition and recycling of thermosetting networks under more environmentally friendly conditions.
