Giuseppe Cavallaro et al.

Summary: This study investigates the adsorption mechanism of nonionic polymers onto aluminogermanate imogolite nanotubes using nanoisothermal titration calorimetry. The results show that the affinity towards the nanotube surface is driven by enthalpy and strongly influenced by the polymer chain length. Small-angle neutron scattering and rheology techniques were used to probe the polymer configuration and flow properties of the complexes, providing insights for advanced applications.

Self-Healable Silicone Elastomer Based on the Synergistic Effect of the Coordination and Ionic Bonds

Shui Yu et al.

Summary: The study presents a dynamic silicone elastomer with carboxyl-amino ionic bond and carboxyl-Al3+ coordinated ionic bond, which exhibits both good mechanical property and self-healing ability. The hybrid network shows better mechanical performance compared to control samples based on single ionic bonds, with optimistic tensile strength and elongation at breaking. This strategy of combining multiple dynamic bond strategies is expected to provide a convenient way to prepare elastomers with synchronous mechanical property and self-healing performance.
