miR-197-5p increases Doxorubicin-mediated anticancer cytotoxicity of HT1080 fibrosarcoma cells by decreasing drug efflux

Neha Jain et al.

Summary: In this study, researchers aimed to investigate the combined application of miR-197-5p and Doxorubicin (Dox) in enhancing the sensitivity of fibrosarcoma cells to Dox and improving its anti-tumor effects. Through a series of experiments, they found that miR-197-5p increased the sensitivity of HT1080 fibrosarcoma cells to Dox by promoting apoptosis and G2/M cell cycle arrest, and by suppressing MDR genes to increase drug influx. Additionally, they observed that the target protein of miR-197-5p, KIAA0101, was inhibited by Dox and further repressed when treated in combination with the miRNA. The combination treatment also led to an upregulation of p53, which is negatively correlated with KIAA0101, compared to Dox alone.

The presence of living endometrial cells in ovarian endometriotic cyst fluid may contribute to the recurrence of endometriosis after surgical excision of endometriomas

Xinxin Xu et al.

Summary: This study found that living endometrial cells with high adhesion ability exist in the ovarian endometriotic cyst fluid, which may contribute to the recurrence of endometriosis after surgical excision of endometriomas due to cyst fluid outflow during the surgical procedure.

Prospects and Challenges of the Drug Delivery Systems in Endometriosis Pain Management: Experimental and Theoretical Aspects

Bogdan Florin Toma et al.

Summary: This study explores a potential treatment for endometriosis pain by developing a drug delivery system based on chitosan and 2-hydroxy-5-nitrobenzaldehyde. The morphological and in vitro drug release experiments demonstrate the potential of this drug delivery system. Analysis of the drug delivery system behavior provides new insights for future pain treatment methods.

miRNAs and lncRNAs: Potential Non-Invasive Biomarkers for Endometriosis

Ioana Maria Maier et al.

Summary: Numerous studies have explored the mechanism and manifestation of endometriosis, highlighting the need for non-invasive diagnostic methods like miRNAs and lncRNAs to diagnose the condition early and alleviate patient suffering. Multiple clinical trials suggest that miRNA can serve as a non-invasive diagnostic tool for differentiating endometriosis stages.

MiRNA 34-a regulate SIRT-1 and Foxo-1 expression in endometriosis

Noha A. Rezk et al.

Summary: The study revealed that SIRT-1 and Bcl-xL genes were significantly up-regulated in endometrial tissue of endometriotic patients, while miRNA34-a, p53, Bax, Bcl-2, and FoxO-1 were down-regulated. There was an inverse relationship between the expressions of SIRT-1, Bcl-xL genes and miR-34a, p53, Bax, Bcl-2, and FoxO-1.

Ovarian hormones-autophagy-immunity axis in menstruation and endometriosis

Hui-Hui Shen et al.

Summary: Menstruation is a cyclic physiological phenomenon controlled by ovarian hormones, and a proper understanding of normal endometrial physiology is crucial for regulating menstrual disorders. Autophagy in the endometrium, regulated by ovarian hormones, plays a key role in immune cell infiltration, tissue repair, and infection prevention during menstruation. Abnormal autophagy levels and dysregulated immune system function are associated with the pathogenesis and progression of endometriosis, suggesting the potential value of autophagy as a target for the treatment of menstrual-related and endometrium-related disorders.
