Facile two-step electrochemical approach for the fabrication of nanostructured nickel oxyhydroxide/SS and its studies on oxygen evolution reaction

Summary: A potential electro-catalyst, amorphous nickel oxyhydroxide, was successfully prepared on a stainless steel substrate using a simple cathodic deposition followed by anodic activation method. The amorphous nickel oxyhydroxide@SS material exhibited good catalytic performance and stability, with the OER proceeding through the formation of NiO2 intermediate. The experimental results also highlighted the significant impact of cathodic deposition time on the interfacial charge transfer resistance and OER performance.
