Multi-scale modeling for frequency-dependent dielectric responses of non-uniform porous carbon fiber/mullite composites

Xiaodong Xia et al.

Summary: This study investigates the frequency-dependent dielectric responses of non-uniformly dispersed porous carbon fiber/mullite composites fabricated by gel-casting in the X-band range. Experimental data show that the dielectric permittivity and electrical conductivity of the overall composite exhibit frequency dependence. The effective dielectric permittivity and electrical conductivity of the composite both enhance with the fiber volume concentration, with decreasing dielectric permittivity and increasing electrical conductivity attributed to frequency-dependent dielectric relaxation and electron hopping effects at the interface.

Getting self-healing ability and ultra-low dielectric loss for high-k epoxy resin composites through building networks based on Li0.3Ti0.02Ni0.68O grafted carbon nanotube bundles with unique surface architecture

Bihuan Peng et al.

Summary: Introducing self-healing ability and ultra-low dielectric loss to high dielectric constant polymer composites is crucial for high service reliability and sustainable development. The sLTNO@mAC/EP composites show significantly improved dielectric properties and self-healing efficiency compared to composites based on mAC or a blend of sLTNO and mAC, with the mechanism being mainly attributed to interface polarization.

Largely enhanced dielectric properties of polymer composites with HfO2 nanoparticles for high-temperature film capacitors

Lulu Ren et al.

Summary: Polymer dielectrics, particularly high-temperature polymer composites with hafnium oxide nanoparticles, show improved dielectric properties and energy storage performance at elevated temperatures. The incorporation of HfO2 enhances the dielectric constant and reduces leakage current density, leading to superior energy storage compared to conventional engineering polymers. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of incorporating nanoparticles with a medium dielectric constant in improving the high-temperature capacitive properties of polymer composites.

Inserting insulating barriers into conductive particle channels: A new paradigm for fabricating polymer composites with high dielectric permittivity and low dielectric loss

Weifei Wu et al.

Summary: This study presents a new strategy for balancing high dielectric permittivity and low dielectric loss by simultaneously assembling conductive and insulating particles into chainlike structures induced by electric field interactions. The addition of insulating barrier particles can significantly reduce the dielectric loss while maintaining a relatively high dielectric permittivity.
