Insight into the adsorption and photocatalytic properties of in-situ synthesized g-C3N4/SnS2 nanocomposite

Preparation of magnetically retrievable flower-like AgBr/BiOBr/NiFe2O4 direct Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst with enhanced visible-light photoactivity

Summary: The flower-like AgBr/BiOBr/NiFe2O4 ternary heterojunction photocatalyst with magnetic recoverability showed improved photocatalytic degradation effect for RhB, attributed to wider absorption range of visible light and inhibited recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes. The morphology assembled by nanosheets provided more active sites, improved light absorption, and played a role in enhancing the photocatalytic performance. Additionally, the heterojunction photocatalyst demonstrated excellent magnetic recovery ability and photostability, making it promising for water environment remediation.

Growing ZnIn2S4 nanosheets on FeWO4 flowers with p-n heterojunction structure for efficient photocatalytic H2 production

Summary: A high-performance FeWO4/ZnIn2S4 composite with abundant and tight 2D/ 2D hetero-interfaces was successfully designed and prepared in this study. The composite exhibited a significantly improved H-2 production rate compared to pure ZnIn2S4. The p-n heterojunction between FeWO4 and ZnIn2S4 nanosheets played a key role in enhancing the photocatalytic activity.

Photocatalytic activity enhancement by composition control of mechano-thermally synthesized BiVO4-Cu2O nanocomposite

Summary: In this study, BiVO4-Cu2O nanocomposites were synthesized using a mechano-thermal method with controlled composition. The effects of structure, composition, and heat treatment on the samples were investigated, leading to the discovery that BiVO4-10%Cu2O exhibited the best photocatalytic performance under visible light irradiation with a degradation rate of 97% for methylene blue.

CH3OH selective oxidation to HCHO on Z-scheme Fe2O3/g-C3N4 hybrid: The rate-determining step of C-H bond scission

Summary: This study presents a direct Z-scheme system (ZOF@CN NTs) consisting of 1D nanotubes oxygen-deficient alpha-Fe2O3 and g-C3N4, which shows a significantly enhanced activity and selectivity for PEC CH3OH oxidation to HCHO. The mechanism of CH3OH oxidation to HCHO on the Z-scheme ZOF@CN NTs photoanode involves key steps such as O-H bond scission and C-H bond scission, with N atoms from g-C3N4 playing a crucial role due to their higher electronegativity compared to O atoms. This work provides a solid foundation for understanding Fe2O3-based Z-scheme system photoanodes for CH3OH oxidation to HCHO.

The synergy of thermal exfoliation and phosphorus doping in g-C3N4 for improved photocatalytic H2 generation

Summary: In this study, thin g-C3N4 nanosheets with improved specific surface area were prepared using the thermal exfoliation method, and phosphorus doping was introduced to enhance light absorption and charge-transfer capability. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of ZnO nanorods/CuO nanourchins composite prepared by chemical bath precipitation

Summary: ZnO nanorods (NRs) and CuO nanourchins (NUs) were combined to achieve the highest efficiency in methylene blue (MB) degradation. The nanocomposites showed improved interconnectivity and increased lifetime of photo-excited charge carriers with the addition of CuO NUs. The highest efficiency in MB degradation was achieved by the ZnO/(10 mol%)CuO nanocomposite, with a band gap energy of 2.9 eV and pore volume of 0.0180 cm3/g.
