Reaction-Controlled Phase-Transfer Process of Polyoxometalate-Based Catalyst for Cellulose Esterification: A Molecular Dynamics Study

Yubing Liu et al.

Summary: The study investigated the phase-transfer process of POMs in cellulose esterification for the first time, revealing that the synergistic effect of polymer support and ionic liquid can overcome the electrostatic repulsion of POM anions and expose active sites for catalysis. The findings shed light on the dynamic behavior mechanism of POMs in catalytic reactions, which is crucial for designing efficient POM-based catalysts.

Solution Crystallization of Polycarbonate Surfaces for Hydrophobic State: Water Droplet Dynamics and Life Cycle Assessment towards Self-Cleaning Applications

Bekir Sami Yilbas et al.

Summary: The study investigates hydrophobization of polycarbonate surface through crystallization with acetone, resulting in a hydrophobic state. The texture characteristics of crystallized surface and treatment duration influence water droplet mobility and optical transmittance. Decreasing treatment duration to 2 min enhances droplet mobility and reduces dust accumulation rates.

Heteropolyacid ionic liquid heterogeneously catalyzed synthesis of isochromans via oxa-Pictet-Spengler cyclization in dimethyl carbonate

Guoping Yang et al.

Summary: A recyclable and efficient heterogeneous green catalyst based on the synthesis of Keggin-type polyoxometalate and vitamin B1 analogue was prepared, which catalyzed Oxa-Pictet-Spengler cyclization of arylethanols and aldehydes to afford various substituted isochromans in moderate conditions with excellent yields. The catalyst could be recycled eight times without significant loss of activity, demonstrating its potential for industrial applications.
