Dielectric control of ultralight hollow porous carbon spheres and excellent microwave absorbing properties

Digang Fan et al.

Summary: Carbon materials have potential as excellent absorbing materials due to their lighter weight, easy-to-control graphitization degree, and good dielectric properties. The hollow carbon spheres (HPC) with a porous structure can achieve wide-band effective microwave absorbing performance under an ultra-thin thickness, making them a candidate for high-efficiency microwave absorbers. The special hollow, porous structure and suitable degree of graphitization are key factors for the effective wave absorption of HPC.
