Patterns of online seeking and providing help among adolescents: a preliminary study

Yuliya Lipshits-Braziler et al.

Summary: Based on two facets, help-seeking and help-providing, we proposed a typology of adolescents' online support-related behaviors, including four patterns: Transceivers who seek and provide help, Receivers who seek help but do not provide it, Transmitters who provide help but do not seek it, and Idlers who refrain from seeking and providing help. Among 528 adolescents, the largest group are Transceivers (45%), who mainly seek help from peers through social networking sites, particularly on social issues. For Receivers (5%), anonymity is the most important facilitator for seeking help. Transmitters (16%) refrain from seeking help due to self-reliance. Idlers (34%) refrain from seeking help due to their preference for face-to-face encounters.

Effectiveness of self-re-learning using video recordings of advanced life support on nursing students' knowledge, self-efficacy, and skills performance

Kyeongmin Jang et al.

Summary: The study measured nursing students' knowledge, self-efficacy, and skills performance in ALS by sending videos taken during their final skills test after training. Results showed a decrease in both knowledge scores, with a more significant decrease in self-efficacy and skills performance in the control group compared to the experimental group. Self-study with videos taken during an ALS skills test was found to enhance the sustainable effects of training.
