CD73 Is Regulated by the EGFR-ERK Signaling Pathway in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Sebastian Griesing et al.

Summary: The study found that EGFR expression is correlated with CD73 expression in NSCLC patients, with EGFR-mutant tumors showing higher CD73 expression. Treatment with EGFR TKI can reduce CD73 expression, suggesting potential novel therapeutic strategies for oncogene-driven NSCLC.

The Anti-Cancer Effects of a Zotarolimus and 5-Fluorouracil Combination Treatment on A549 Cell-Derived Tumors in BALB/c Nude Mice

Ching-Feng Wu et al.

Summary: The study showed that the treatment with Zotarolimus or Zotarolimus combined with 5-FU significantly inhibited lung adenocarcinoma growth, increased tumor cell apoptosis, reduced inflammation levels, and inhibited tumor metastasis. The synergistic anti-tumor effect of Zotarolimus and 5-FU on lung adenocarcinoma was evident, with the combination treatment being more effective than using 5-FU or Zotarolimus alone.

Cyanidin-3-O-glucoside and cisplatin inhibit proliferation and downregulate the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway in cervical cancer cells

Xu Li et al.

Summary: The combination of cisplatin with cyanidin-3-O-glucoside was found to inhibit proliferation and induce cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in cervical cancer cells. The combination treatment showed enhanced anticancer effects compared to individual treatments. These findings suggest a potential strategy to reduce adverse effects of chemotherapy in cervical cancer.

The Role of Tumor Inflammatory Microenvironment in Lung Cancer

Zhaofeng Tan et al.

Summary: Lung cancer is the most common and fatal malignant tumor globally, with inflammation playing a crucial role in its occurrence and development. Inflammatory cells and factors in the tumor microenvironment promote lung cancer by activating inflammatory pathways and mechanisms like immune escape, angiogenesis, and apoptosis. Understanding the relationship between inflammation and lung cancer through the tumor microenvironment can lead to the discovery of new therapeutic targets for the disease.

Anti-Cancer Effects of Zotarolimus Combined with 5-Fluorouracil Treatment in HCT-116 Colorectal Cancer-Bearing BALB/c Nude Mice

Geng-Ruei Chang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that Zotarolimus alone and in combination with 5-FU can inhibit the growth and metastasis of colorectal adenocarcinoma, as well as increase the sensitivity of tumor cells to chemotherapy. Additionally, the combination therapy shows a synergistic effect in retarding tumor growth and enhancing tumor inhibition. These findings suggest that Zotarolimus may serve as a potential anti-tumor agent in the treatment of human colon adenocarcinoma, with potential for further therapeutic development.
