3D Bioprinted Scaffolds for Bone Tissue Engineering: State-Of-The-Art and Emerging Technologies

Zahra Yazdanpanah et al.

Summary: Treating large bone defects is challenging and bone tissue engineering using 3D bioprinted scaffolds has emerged as a promising approach. This review highlights the latest developments in the use of bioprinted scaffolds for critical-sized defect treatment, including the biomaterials, cells, and growth factors used in bioink formulation and bioprinting techniques. The review also discusses current limitations and emerging approaches in this field.

Fabrication of hybrid scaffolds obtained from combinations of PCL with gelatin or collagen via electrospinning for skeletal muscle tissue engineering

Victor Perez-Puyana et al.

Summary: The creation of skeletal muscle tissue in vitro is an important research topic, and nanofibrillar structures fabricated through electrospinning have great potential in regenerative medicine. Addition of proteins can increase scaffold hydrophilicity, decrease fiber size, soften mechanical properties, promote cell growth, and potentially develop musculoskeletal tissues.
