Summary: The study found that despite repeated delignification and successive 4% NaOH extraction, the cellulose fibers of land plants have branched structures with glucomannan in the HMM fractions.

Protocol for Creating Antibodies with Complex Fluorescence Spectra

Summary: This study presents a novel method for fluorescence multiplexing using MuSIC probes, which can effectively increase the multiplexing capacity. Different MuSIC probes were successfully attached to separate batches of antibodies, and the feasibility of the method was validated through spectral flow cytometry experiments. This approach has potential applications in cell-type profiling, tissue heterogeneity studies, clinical research, biomedical studies, and drug discovery.

Molar mass determination of lignins and characterization of their polymeric structures by multi-detector gel permeation chromatography

Evamaria C. Gaugler et al.

Summary: Molar masses, MHS exponents, and dn/dc values of three lignins were determined in DMF with 0.05 M LiBr using multi-detector GPC. The ineffectiveness of fluorescence filters on molar mass determination by GPC-MALS was confirmed, and GPC with viscometry detection showed compact molecular structures for the lignins. Intrinsic viscosity of Protobind 1000 was lower than that of Alcell or Indulin AT for a given molar mass.
