Effects of dapagliflozin in the progression of atherosclerosis in patients with type 2 diabetes: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Summary: Through a meta-analysis, we found that dapagliflozin has a positive impact on HDL-C, ΔFMD, and eGFR in patients with T2DM, and it also shows significant advantages in controlling TG, SBP, DBP, HbA1c, BMI, body weight, and waist circumference. However, it increases TC and LDL-C. Furthermore, the study found that dapagliflozin's effect on reducing TG levels is more significant in patients with a baseline eGFR < 83 ml/min/1.73m(2). Therefore, dapagliflozin could be a therapeutic option for the progression of atherosclerosis in patients with T2DM.
