One-step immunoassay for food allergens based on screened mimotopes from autodisplayed FV-antibody library

Jeong Soo Sung et al.

Summary: This article presents a one-step immunoassay technique that utilizes mimotopes to detect target analytes. By screening mimotopes from an autodisplayed F-V-antibody library, the target analyte can be quantitatively detected without any washing steps. The CDR3 regions of the screened F-V-antibodies showed binding affinity to food allergens, which were synthesized into mimotopes for the corresponding food allergens. The one-step immunoassays for food allergens were successfully demonstrated without the need for immobilization of antibodies to a solid support.

Switching-peptides for one-step immunoassay and its application to the diagnosis of human hepatitis B

Ji-Hong Bong et al.

Summary: In this study, switching-peptides were used to develop a one-step immunoassay for detecting antigen-antibody interactions without the need for additional antibody treatment or washing steps. The design principles of switching-peptides and the study of their interaction with antibodies using thermodynamic parameters demonstrated successful binding properties. The feasibility of using switching-peptides for quantitative one-step immunoassay was confirmed through HBsAg detection and statistical comparison with conventional ELISA results, showing promising results for practical applications.

Pre-clinically evaluated visual lateral flow platform using influenza A and B nucleoprotein as a model and its potential applications

Natpapas Wiriyachaiporn et al.

Summary: The visual colorimetric rapid screening system, based on a lateral flow device, demonstrated good specificity to influenza A and B nucleoproteins without cross reactivity to other closely related respiratory viruses. It showed high sensitivity, detecting as low as 0.04 and 1 ng of influenza A and B protein content per test, respectively, within 10 minutes. Comparing to commercial tests, the system exhibited a four-to-eight-fold higher sensitivity and correlated well with standard molecular approaches in pre-clinical evaluation.

Modeling dye-sensitized solar cells with graphene based on nanocomposites in the Brillouin zone and density functional theory

Won-Chun Oh et al.

Summary: Graphene-based nanocomposites can be used as flexible transparent displays for electronic devices, with more efficient power conversion compared to indium tin oxide. Graphene's strength lies in enabling various components in existing solar cells, resulting in improved power conversion efficiency. Researchers have modified the structure to create a novel type of light-reaping materials by tuning the properties of graphene and graphene-based materials.
