Validation of a Light EEG-Based Measure for Real-Time Stress Monitoring during Realistic Driving

Nicolina Sciaraffa et al.

Summary: This study validates a neurophysiological measure called Neurometric, which can be used outside the lab to measure stress levels using lightweight EEG. The Neurometric is tested in a multitasking experiment and validated with a realistic driving simulator. The results show that the Neurometric is able to accurately distinguish between different levels of stress and performs better than other measures in terms of accuracy and stability.

Hybrid route choice model incorporating latent cognitive effects of real-time travel information using physiological data

Shubham Agrawal et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a hybrid route choice modeling framework that takes into account the latent cognitive effects of real-time information on drivers, utilizing physiological data and various explanatory variables to analyze drivers' route choice behavior. The study results demonstrate the significant impact of driver attributes, information characteristics, and route characteristics on drivers' cognitive effort and inattention, influencing their route choice decisions. These insights can help traffic operators and information service providers incorporate human factors and cognitive aspects when designing and disseminating real-time travel information.
