Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer: prelaunch

Martin C. Weisskopf et al.

Summary: The Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) is a collaborative mission between NASA and the Italian Space Agency (ASI) that aims to investigate imaging X-ray polarimetry. It features three identical telescopes with polarization-sensitive imaging X-ray detectors, and will conduct precise polarimetry for a 2-year baseline mission.

A broadband radio view of transient jet ejecta in the black hole candidate X-ray binary MAXI J1535-571

Jaiverdhan Chauhan et al.

Summary: Our study presents a broadband radio investigation of the transient jets emitted from the black hole candidate X-ray binary MAXI J1535-571. Utilizing multiple Australian radio telescopes, we determined various physical parameters of the jets, highlighting the capabilities of these telescopes to jointly probe black hole X-ray binary jets over a broad frequency range. This study emphasizes the potential contributions that can be made by the low-frequency part of the Square Kilometre Array (SKA-Low) in the study of black hole X-ray binaries.

MAXI J1820+070 with NuSTAR - II. Flaring during the hard to soft state transition with a long soft lag

D. J. K. Buisson et al.

Summary: Analyzing NuSTAR data of MAXI J1820+070, the study focused on unusual flaring behavior during the outburst, with observations showing dipping and flaring stages. The variability is primarily driven by changes in power-law flux, while a long soft lag of the thermal behind the power-law emission was also observed.
