Subthreshold Swing of 59 mV decade-1 in Nanoscale Flexible Ultralow-Voltage Organic Transistors

Michael Geiger et al.

Summary: The study investigates the use of plasma-assisted oxidation of vacuum-deposited titanium gate electrodes to produce titanium oxide, which is used as the first component of a hybrid TiOx/SAM gate dielectric in flexible organic TFTs. These transistors demonstrate a gate-dielectric capacitance of approximately 1 mu F cm(-2), a subthreshold swing of 59 mV decade(-1) (close to the physical limit at room temperature within measurement error), and an on/off current ratio of 10(7) for a gate-source-voltage range of 1V even at channel lengths as small as 0.7 mu m.

Printable Ultra-Flexible Fluorinated Organic-Inorganic Nanohybrid Sol-Gel Derived Gate Dielectrics for Highly Stable Organic Thin-Film Transistors and Other Practical Applications

Hyeok-jin Kwon et al.

Summary: The novel fluorinated organic-inorganic hybrid material FAGPTi, synthesized successfully, exhibits long-term colloidal stability and excellent flexibility and insulating properties in OTFTs as a gate dielectric layer. Introducing a fluorinated precursor results in stable spherical composites with strong repulsive forces, allowing for efficient fabrication of electronic materials and devices with highly stable driving characteristics under severe bending conditions.

Summary: Utilizing solution-processed monolayer organic crystal, ferroelectric HfZrOx gating, and van der Waals fabrication, researchers have developed flexible OTFTs with high transconductance and low power consumption. These OTFTs demonstrate outstanding intrinsic gain and amplifier voltage gain, outperforming existing technologies. Additionally, researchers have successfully integrated wearable ECG and pulse sensors with high fidelity amplification, capable of detecting weak ECG waves and diagnosing arrhythmia, showing great promise for battery/wireless-powered applications like electronic skins and RFID tags.
