A fully conjugated organic polymer via Knoevenagel condensation for fast separation of uranium

Xiaofeng Li et al.

Summary: A pore-free adsorbent with abundant active sites is beneficial for the fast separation of uranium. The two-dimensional olefin-linked conjugated organic polymer prepared in this study showed good stability, excellent fluorescence property, and high N atom content, resulting in excellent performance in uranium adsorption and separation. Its nearly pore-free structure, due to irregular staggered stacking, exhibited fast adsorption behavior towards uranium, confirming the feasibility of pore-free materials for rapid adsorption.

Bio-inspired hydroxylation imidazole linked covalent organic polymers for uranium extraction from aqueous phases

Run-Han Yan et al.

Summary: This study developed a series of adsorbents for uranium extraction inspired by the interaction between imidazole affinity ligand of histidine and uranium. The covalent organic polymers showed promising extraction abilities with high selectivity for uranium, highlighting the potential for environmental protection and human health. The synergistic effects between hydroxyl groups and imidazole linkages contributed to the high efficiency of uranium extraction.
