Amide-linked covalent organic frameworks as efficient heterogeneous photocatalysts in water

Si Ma et al.

Summary: Two-dimensional covalent organic frameworks have attracted significant attention as innovative photocatalysts, with outstanding performance in water achieved using a multi-synergistic approach. The synergistic effects of high porosity, photoactive framework, high wettability, and stability of COF-JLU19 led to an unprecedented enhancement in photocatalytic activity and recyclability in water under visible light illumination. These findings highlight the potential of the multi-synergistic approach in developing COF-based photocatalysts for addressing environmental and energy challenges.

Bandgap engineering in benzotrithiophene-based conjugated microporous polymers: a strategy for screening metal-free heterogeneous photocatalysts

Songjie Han et al.

Summary: Metal-free conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) serve as green and sustainable alternatives to classical metal-based photosensitizers. A general strategy of bandgap engineering in the same series of materials was proposed to obtain excellent solid photocatalysts. By modulating the bandgaps, energy levels, and photoelectric performances of CMPs with benzo[1,2-b:3,4-b0:5,6-b00]trithiophene building blocks, the visible-light catalytic activity of BTT-CMP2 was found to be superior and showed extensive substrate applicability and outstanding recyclability.
