Emergent physical properties of perovskite-type oxides prepared under high pressure

Xubin Ye et al.

Summary: The perovskite ABO(3) family exhibits a wide range of structural evolutions and physical properties, with the BO6 octahedron representing the main unit controlling electronic and magnetic properties. While the A-site ion is typically not involved, unconventional perovskite materials synthesized under high pressure demonstrate the importance of intersite A-B correlations in electronic behaviors and the emergence of physical properties.

Double and double double perovskites in the RMnMnTaO6 series

K. Ji et al.

Summary: A new family of perovskites RMnMnTaO6 have been synthesized under high pressure, showing structural and magnetic property differences due to varying rare earth ion sizes. The absence of antisite disorder or nonstoichiometry, along with spin ordering transitions observation and study, contribute to understanding the material's magnetic behavior.

Cluster Spin Glass Formation in the Double Double Perovskite CaMnFeTaO6

Padraig Kearins et al.

Summary: CaMnFeTaO6 has been synthesized at 1200 degrees C under 10 GPa pressure, adopting a double double perovskite structure with cation disorder at all transition-metal sites. Although magnetization measurements reveal apparent ferro- or ferrimagnetic transitions at specific temperatures, no long-range magnetic order is observed by neutron diffraction down to 1.5 K.

Ferrimagnetism and spin reorientation in the high-pressure double double perovskites CaMnCrSbO6 and CaMnFeSbO6

Elena Solana-Madruga et al.

Summary: Two CaMnBSbO6 (B = Cr and Fe) high-pressure double double perovskites are reported, with CaMnFeSbO6 showing a greater degree of magnetic disorder and a reorientation of spins at a second magnetic transition point.

Observation of A-site antiferromagnetic and B-site ferrimagnetic orderings in the quadruple perovskite oxide CaCu3Co2Re2O12

Zhehong Liu et al.

Summary: A quadruple perovskite oxide CaCu3Co2Re2O12 was synthesized by high-pressure annealing, showing unique A- and B-site ordered quadruple perovskite structure. It exhibits long-range antiferromagnetic and ferrimagnetic phase transitions, with strong electrical insulating behavior and an energy gap of approximately 3.75 eV. Spin interactions mechanisms are discussed in detail.
