Yincai Xu et al.

Summary: This article proposes a synthetic methodology for narrowband emission materials by functionalizing multiple resonance skeletons and generating a universal building block. By modulating the acceptor, a series of efficient narrowband green TADF emitters have been constructed. An organic light-emitting diode based on this strategy exhibits pure green emission and high quantum efficiency.

Highly Efficient Multi-Resonance Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Material with a Narrow Full Width at Half-Maximum of 0.14 eV

Futong Liu et al.

Summary: By protecting the MR framework with peripheral phenyl derivatives, four efficient narrowband MR-TADF emitters were successfully designed and synthesized, offering narrowband emission in OLEDs with small FWHM values and fast radiative decay rates. The green OLED based on this design strategy showed excellent performance with high EQE and narrow FWHM, while demonstrating reduced efficiency roll-off and long operational lifetimes compared to sensitizing host-based MR-TADF devices. These results highlight the potential of this design strategy for highly efficient OLEDs with ultra-high color purity.

Sulfone-Incorporated Multi-Resonance TADF Emitter for High-Performance Narrowband Blue OLEDs with EQE of 32%

Tao Hua et al.

Summary: In this study, three novel emitters were designed with gradually modified boron/nitrogen embedded polycyclic skeleton, achieving emission that shifted progressively towards blue wavelength. The incorporation of a sulfone unit provided a simple but effective tactic for narrowband blue emission. Devices based on these emitters exhibited high quantum efficiency and low efficiency roll-off.

BN-Anthracene for High-Mobility Organic Optoelectronic Materials through Periphery Engineering

Wanhui Li et al.

Summary: We have successfully developed high-mobility organic semiconductors based on BN-PAHs through the periphery engineering strategy. One particular BN-PAH, DPBNA, showed remarkable performance in organic field-effect transistors with a hole mobility of 1.3 cm(2) V-1 s(-1), surpassing TPBNA and all previously reported BN-PAHs. Remarkably, this is the first BN-PAH with a mobility exceeding 1 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1), making it a benchmark for practical applications comparable to amorphous silicon. Additionally, high-performance phototransistors based on DPBNA were demonstrated, indicating the high potential of BN-PAHs for optoelectronic applications when the periphery engineering strategy is implemented.

Yincai Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel molecular construction paradigm based on multiple resonance was proposed for thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) compounds. A representative multiple resonance polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (MR-PAH) was successfully synthesized using this method. The resulting compound exhibited excellent green emission performance in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs).

Distribution control enables efficient reduced-dimensional perovskite LEDs

Dongxin Ma et al.

Summary: By using a fluorinated triphenylphosphine oxide additive to control cation diffusion and passivate surfaces, the efficiency and operating lifetimes of perovskite light-emitting diodes have been improved. Although reduced-dimensional perovskites show promise in increasing stability and photoluminescence quantum yield, challenges such as lower EQEs and inferior color purities remain.
