Dietary restriction and/or exercise training impairs spermatogenesis in normal rats

Yinlam Li et al.

Summary: Dietary restriction and exercise can lead to detrimental effects on spermatogenesis and sperm function, with dietary restriction having a greater impact. These effects are mediated through overlapping biological pathways in the testis, disrupting normal gene expression patterns.

Chitosan-Stabilized Selenium Nanoparticles and Metformin Synergistically Rescue Testicular Oxidative Damage and Steroidogenesis-Related Genes Dysregulation in High-Fat Diet/Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats

Yasmina M. Abd El-Hakim et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that metformin and/or chitosan stabilized selenium nanoparticles can effectively alleviate male reproductive function impairment in a rat model of type 2 diabetes mellitus induced by a high-fat diet with low-dose streptozotocin. This was evidenced by improvements in sperm count, motility, hormonal levels, and testicular oxidative damage, as well as regulation of steroidogenesis-related genes. Co-treatment with metformin and CH-SeNPs showed more significant effects compared to individual treatments.

ROS and metabolomics-mediated autophagy in rat's testicular tissue alter after exercise training; Evidence for exercise intensity and outcomes

Samaneh Akbar Gharehbagh et al.

Summary: Exercise training has significant impacts on testicular antioxidant and metabolic potentials. High-intensity training can suppress antioxidant biomarkers while increasing autophagy-inducers expression, while low and moderate intensity training may help maintain metabolic homeostasis and promote spermatogenesis differentiation.

Effects of high intensity interval training and aging on cardiac muscle apoptosis markers in C57BL/6 Mice

Rahman Soori et al.

Summary: The study found that 4 weeks of HIIT increased levels of Bcl-2 in both young and old cardiac muscles, with no significant effects of aging observed, indicating an improvement in anti-apoptotic signaling in the hearts of both young and old mice.
