Highly Stable Electrochemical Probe with Bidentate Thiols for Ratiometric Monitoring of Endogenous Polysulfide in Living Mouse Brains

Yinjie Qian et al.

Summary: A lack of reliable approaches for real-time measurement and quantification of polysulfides in vivo has limited exploration of their roles in brain functions. In this study, an electrochemical probe was designed for determination of H2Sn, showing high selectivity for real-time tracking in a linear range of 0.25-20 μM. The developed microelectrode with high selectivity, accuracy, and stability was successfully employed for in vivo assaying of H2Sn in mouse brains with ischemia.

A NIR fluorescent probe for the in vitro and in vivo selective detection of hydrogen peroxide

Ge Chunpo et al.

Summary: This study developed a turn-on fluorescent probe, TMN-H2O2, with near-infrared emission for H2O2 detection in living systems, showing high selectivity, sensitivity, and fast response time. The successful application of TMN-H2O2 in vitro and in vivo suggests it is a reliable chemical tool for monitoring both endogenous and exogenous H2O2.

Sachin Kumar et al.

Summary: The engineered Cu, Zn SOD (WT) with a substitution of a conserved residue at position 61 (P61G) showed higher catalytic efficiency and thermostability compared to the wild-type protein. The P61G mutation also resulted in enhanced tolerance to hydrogen peroxide inactivation, making it a potential candidate for applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
