Determination of the interface band alignment of Mg2Si/4H-SiC heterojuction for potential photodetector application

Yangfang Liao et al.

Summary: The Mg2Si/4H-SiC heterojunction was prepared using RF magnetron sputtering technique, with XPS used to measure the binding energies and valence band maxima. The band offsets at the interface were determined to be 1.47 eV for valence band and 1.00 eV for conduction band, indicating a type-I band alignment. This heterojunction shows promise as an infrared photodetector.

Understanding chemiluminescence in catalytic oxidation of CO and hydrocarbons

Thuy Phuong Nhat Tran et al.

Summary: A chemiluminescence instrument was developed to study the CL behavior of catalytic oxidation of CO and hydrocarbons in catalytic converters, finding that CL intensity increases exponentially with temperature and shows good linearity with reaction rates. The intensity per CO2 production was different among reactions, likely due to the presence of multiple CL processes and/or differences in reaction heat. This study successfully demonstrated the feasibility of rapid catalyst evaluation in C3H6 oxidation based on the linear correlation between CL intensity and reaction rate.
