Effect of Structured, Moderate Exercise on Kidney Function Decline in Sedentary Older Adults An Ancillary Analysis of the LIFE Study Randomized Clinical Trial

Summary: This ancillary analysis of a randomized clinical trial showed that a physical activity and exercise intervention can slow down the decline in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR (CysC)) among sedentary older adults. This suggests that targeted recommendation of physical activity and moderate-intensity exercise should be considered as a treatment to slow decline in eGFR (CysC) in older adults.

Clinician recommendations and their willingness to address side effects were important factors influencing patients' willingness to initiate and continue with a new medication.
