Artificial neural networking (ANN) analysis for heat and entropy generation in flow of non-Newtonian fluid between two rotating disks

Tie-Hong Zhao et al.

Summary: Mixed convection is a heat transport mechanism in thermodynamic systems that involves the motion of fluid particles influenced by both gravity and external forces. This study focuses on the mixed convective flow of Ree-Eyring fluid between two rotating disks, considering the effects of porosity and velocity slip. The energy equation is modeled with various factors such as heat generation/absorption, dissipation, radiative heat flux, and Joule heating. The results obtained are compared with previous studies, showing good agreement. Interesting physical phenomena such as skin friction and heat transfer are also numerically calculated.

Heat transfer treatment of nanomaterial with considering turbulator effects

Xue-De Luan et al.

Summary: Multi tapes were recommended as a promising technique for enhancing cross section flow in the current context. By adding copper oxide nano powders, the type of carrier fluid was changed and applying tapes and nanoparticles in the pipe can increase the residence time and enhance cooling rate. The pressure loss and S-gen,S-f increase with the growth of b and Re, while the increase of b leads to a reduction in S-gen,S-th.

Summary: The ducted propeller is more efficient in hovering but the heavy structure reduces overall system efficiency, prompting a comparison with open propellers when weight penalty is considered. In this scenario, lighter ducted propellers perform better at low disc loading, while those with higher aerodynamic hovering efficiency excel at high disc loading. The optimization process generates an L-shaped Pareto front, indicating designs that balance aerodynamic efficiency and weight reduction.

Influence of Mach Number of Main Flow on Film Cooling Characteristics under Supersonic Condition

Bo Zhang et al.

Summary: The flow and heat transfer characteristics of a film jet inclined to various supersonic situations were numerically studied. The presence of obstacles in supersonic situations led to the generation of complex waves impacting film attachment and the cooling enhancement. Shock waves contributed to the formation of multi-interfacial layered structures and the increase in adhesion of the gas film, resulting in improved film cooling. Additionally, the aerodynamic convergent-divergent state formed in the film hole disrupted the state of supersonic congestion and further enhanced the film cooling effect.
