Observation of Spin-Induced Ferroelectricity in a Layered van der Waals Antiferromagnet CuCrP2S6

Chang Bae Park et al.

Summary: CuCrP2S6 exhibits magneto-electric coupling through spin-dependent p-d hybridization, resulting in polarization modulation below saturation magnetic field. However, CuCrP2Se6 shows no similar phenomenon due to cancellation of polarization caused by the doubling of the crystallographic unit cell.
