Magnetization dependent tunneling conductance of ferromagnetic barriers

Zhe Wang et al.

Summary: This study shows how tunneling conductance can elucidate the material magnetic properties in atomically thin van der Waals materials. By measuring the temperature and magnetic field dependence of the conductance, the magnetic phase diagram of van der Waals materials can be mapped. The tunneling magnetoconductance in CrBr3 is found to depend exclusively on the magnetization M(H, T) over the entire temperature range, revealing a new approach to probe different properties of atomically thin ferromagnetic insulators related to their magnetization.

Moire trions in MoSe2/WSe2 heterobilayers

Xi Wang et al.

Summary: Researchers observed moire trions and their doping-dependent photoluminescence polarization in H-stacked MoSe2/WSe2 heterobilayers. As moire traps are filled with either electrons or holes, new sets of interlayer exciton photoluminescence peaks emerge with specific narrow linewidths. Circularly polarized photoluminescence reveals a switching polarization pattern as moire excitons transition from negatively charged to positively charged, driven by energy relaxation pathways during interlayer trion formation.
