Ultra-Stable Phase Change Coatings by Self-Cross-Linkable Reactive Poly(ethylene glycol) and MWCNTs

Summary: PCM coatings based on reactive poly(ethylene glycol) have been developed for direct thermal energy exchange and storage, showing significant solid-solid phase transition properties and high energy storage densities. Addition of multi-walled carbon nanotubes into the coatings enhances high-temperature form stability and rapid thermal exchange properties, forming a cross-linked network between RPEG and MWCNTs. Thermal regulation clothes prepared by spray coating method exhibit good washing durability without performance deterioration after three washes.

One-step synthesis of graphene-based composite phase change materials with high solar-thermal conversion efficiency

Summary: A simple and efficient one-step strategy of constructing graphene-based composite phase change materials (PCMs) with a high loading capacity of polyethylene glycol (PEG) up to 95 wt% is proposed. Thermal self-regulatory smart biosensor based on horseradish peroxidase-immobilized phase-change microcapsules for enhancing detection of hazardous substances

Summary: By combining phase change material and bioelectrocatalytic material, a thermal self-regulatory smart biosensor was designed and constructed for enhanced detection of hazardous substances at high ambient temperatures. The innovative approach resulted in microcapsules with a regular spherical morphology and a layer-by-layer core-shell microstructure, exhibiting good thermal management ability and thermal cycle stability for long-term application. The smart biosensor showed high sensitivity and a low detection limit, outperforming conventional biosensors in detecting hazardous substances at high temperatures.

Summary: A scalable additive-free wet-spinning methodology is demonstrated for producing strong, tough, and conductive graphene fibers by optimizing the surface chemistry of graphene oxide sheets and controlling their spinning and assembly behavior. The fibers possess compact and ordered microstructures and strong interlayer interactions, resulting in high tensile strength and toughness. The fibers also exhibit superb electrical conductivity due to the repairable structural defects on the graphene oxide sheets.
