The Danish Health and Wellbeing Survey: Study design, response proportion and respondent characteristics

Summary: The study aimed to describe the design and respondent characteristics of the Danish Health and Wellbeing Surveys in 2015 and 2019, as well as a follow-up survey conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Data was collected through self-administered questionnaires. The overall response proportion decreased slightly from 2015 to 2019 but increased in the follow-up survey in 2020. Unit non-response was associated with male sex, younger age, being unmarried, and lower educational level.

Childhood adversity and common mental disorders in young employees in Sweden: is the association affected by early adulthood occupational class?

Summary: This study found that childhood adversities are associated with an increased risk of subsequent CMDs in young employees, especially in manual workers. Having a parent treated for a mental disorder, growing up in a household living on public assistance, or experiencing residential instability were identified as strong predictors of CMDs.

Short Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale (SWEMWBS): performance in a clinical sample in relation to PHQ-9 and GAD-7

Summary: This study evaluates the construct validity and sensitivity to change of the Short Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale (SWEMWBS) as an outcome measure in the treatment of common mental disorders (CMD) in primary care settings. Results show that SWEMWBS is acceptable as a CMD outcome measure in primary care settings, with good construct validity and sensitivity to change. Correlations were found between SWEMWBS scores and PHQ-9/GAD-7 scores, indicating significant improvements over time in all three scales.
