Effect of the Ag evolution process on ordering the transition for L10-FePt nanoparticles synthesized by Ag addition

Dong Zhao et al.

Summary: In this work, L1(0)-FePt nanoparticles with high coercivity and ordering degree were successfully synthesized by adding Ag. The evolution process of Ag in the ordering transition was investigated, and it was found that the diffusion of Ag played a significant role in the ordering rearrangement of Fe and Pt atoms, resulting in the formation of a highly ordered structure.

Controlled Magnetic Isolation and Decoupling of Perpendicular FePt Films by Capping Ultrathin Cu(002) Nano-Islands

Da-Hua Wei et al.

Summary: This study explores the effects of ultrathin Cu(002) capping nano-islands on the magnetic properties and microstructure of FePt(001) films directly deposited on MgO(001) substrates at a low temperature of 300 degrees C. The enhancement of coercivity is attributed to Cu atom behavior spreading along grain boundaries, and the Cu capping layer can control the strength of intergrain exchange coupling. The existence of dipole interaction is observed in the designed Cu/FePt composite structure of stacked films.

Formation and Application of Core-Shell of FePt-Au Magnetic-Plasmonic Nanoparticles

Da-Hua Wei et al.

Summary: Monodispersed FePt core and FePt-Au core-shell nanoparticles were chemically synthesized with controllable surface-functional properties. The size of the nanoparticles could be tuned by the initial concentration of gold acetate, and FePt-Au NPs showed a red shift in surface plasmon resonance compared to pure Au NPs. Surface modification using mercaptoacetic acid gave the NPs hydrophilic properties and potential applications in biomedical engineering research.

Interfacial control of domain structure and magnetic anisotropy in La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 manganite heterostructures

Da Lan et al.

Summary: The study investigates tunable domain structures in ferroelastic La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 (LSMO) films through interfacial engineering, demonstrating a significant influence of crystal orientation on domain structures. The structural domains in LSMO films are controlled by anisotropic strain and interfacial oxygen octahedral coupling at the heterointerface between LSMO and NdGaO3 (NGO).
