A Social-Ecological Exploration of College and University Students' COVID-19 Infection Preventive Behaviors

Levels of Trust in Information Sources as a Predictor of Protective Health Behaviors During COVID-19 Pandemic: A UAE Cross-Sectional Study

Summary: Health information sources and levels of trust can influence the adoption of advocated health behaviors, with sociodemographic variables playing a role. This study in the UAE found that websites, social media, government communications, and family and friends were the most consulted sources, while personal physicians, healthcare professionals, and government communications were the most trusted. Differences in source use and trust levels were observed based on age, gender, and education. Trust in information sources was associated with the adoption of protective behaviors, particularly for UAE citizens.

Knowledge-attitude-practice and psychological status of college students during the early stage of COVID-19 outbreak in China: a cross-sectional study

Summary: The study found that male youths and those holding certain beliefs (such as neglect of the disease, ignorance of community actions, etc.) were less willing to take preventive measures against COVID-19; older, higher educated, and higher income youths were more likely to practice preventive measures. Therefore, it is essential to widely disseminate and communicate correct knowledge and awareness of epidemic prevention.

Information seeking behavior and COVID-19 pandemic: A snapshot of young, middle aged and senior individuals in Greece

Knowledge, attitudes and preventive behaviors toward COVID-19: a study among higher education students in Portugal

Summary: The study found that Portuguese higher education students have good knowledge about COVID-19, exhibit positive attitudes towards preventive behaviors, and engage in an average of 5.81 out of 12 analyzed behaviors. Females showed higher levels of knowledge, more positive attitudes, and higher engagement in preventive behaviors compared to males. Being a bachelor's or master's degree student and having positive attitudes toward COVID-19 preventive behaviors were predictors of the adoption of preventive behaviors.
