Summary: The majority of community integration programs and interventions focus on addressing health-related educational needs and community mobility, with goal setting and promoting self-efficacy being important components. However, there is still a lack of focus on managing relationships and addressing sexuality needs. Further empirical evaluation of these programs and interventions, particularly in countries other than the USA, is needed to inform service development.

The findings suggest the importance of acknowledging the context and individual in the RTW process and propose a direction grounded in occupational perspective for a time-sensitive and equal RTW process.

Challenging conceptualisations of work: Revisiting contemporary experiences of return to work and unemployment

Summary: This article critically examines how a narrow understanding of work permeates contemporary social policies and programs by drawing on empirically derived illustrations of return to work and unemployment. By integrating empirically grounded illustrations with theory, the tension between politically shaped structures of social policies and individual experiences of work, unemployment, and return to work is highlighted. Success in work-related placement programs is not equated with meaningful employment, emphasizing the potential risks of solely measuring work by formal employment.
