A decision paradox: benefit vs risk and trust vs distrust for online dating adoption vs non-adoption

Qi Chen et al.

Summary: This study explores the impact of perceived benefits, risks, trust, and distrust on user adoption intentions towards online dating services. The findings suggest that perceived benefits play a more crucial role in adoption decisions, while perceived risks have a greater impact on non-adoption intentions. Trust in the online dating service influences user benefit perceptions, while distrust in both the service and the daters affects perceived risks. Additionally, benefit and risk perceptions mediate the effects of trust and distrust on adoption decisions.
