Hotel servicescape and customer citizenship behaviors: mediating role of customer engagement and moderating role of gender

Shuhao Li et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of hotel servicescape on customer citizenship behaviors, with customer engagement as a mediator and gender as a moderator. The results show that customer engagement mediates the effects of physical and social servicescapes on various types of CCBs. Specifically, the indirect effects of physical servicescape on CCBs through customer engagement are stronger for male customers, while no significant gender difference is observed in the effects of social servicescape. This research contributes to understanding how servicescape elements influence CCBs and customer engagement, as well as the moderating role of gender in these relationships.
