Our research shows that this transition creates a new culture where data and technology are considered more reliable than human advice, leading to the emergence of new responsibility gaps. Advisors are adding new roles to their professional identities but are paying limited attention to the societal externalities of this transition. They view Agriculture 4.0 as a threat or disruption rather than evolution or promise, and prioritize different sets of competencies based on their understanding of the future of Agriculture 4.0.

Good intentions in complex realities: Challenges for designing responsibly in digital agriculture in low-income countries
