Prosocial imprint: CEO childhood famine experience and corporate philanthropic donation

Summary: This study explores the impact of CEOs' childhood famine experience on philanthropic donations in Chinese publicly listed firms. Findings suggest that CEOs who experienced famine between the ages of 7 and 11 are more likely to increase their firms' donation level, with this relationship being influenced by firm size and CEO gender.
