Comparing the effects of performing and recalling acts of kindness

Kellon Ko et al.

Summary: Research shows that both performing and recalling prosocial behaviors can increase well-being equally. Participants who engaged in both or either of these behaviors saw greater improvements in well-being compared to a control group. However, there was no significant difference in well-being gains between participants in the three prosocial conditions. This suggests that recalling acts of kindness could be a cost-effective way to boost well-being.
