Same, same but different? Neighbourhood effects of accessibility on housing prices

Helena Bohman

Summary: The study reveals that improving accessibility mainly affects lower-priced market segments, which is crucial for lower-income households. Low-income households may not afford some areas after price increases, thus the distributional effects of accessibility are related to tenure of the catchment area.

Short-term forecasts on individual accessibility in bus system based on neural network model

Yufan Zuo et al.

Summary: This study proposes a three-stage method for short-term forecasts on individual accessibility in bus system based on neural network (NN) model, which successfully predicts passengers' travel patterns and individual accessibility in the predicted period. By combining a NN model, traffic data and land use information, the proposed method demonstrates the capability to forecast the future spatial distribution of individual accessibility in transport system with low average errors.

Measuring accessibility to health care services for older bus passengers: A finer spatial resolution

Wendong Chen et al.

Summary: The study proposed a method to measure the accessibility of health care services for older people using bus passenger data in Nanjing, China and found that the demand for older people was concentrated in the suburbs, high accessibility stations in urban districts were underutilized, and two types of home stations - those with medical institutions and those with bed shortages - deserve special attention.

Can street-focused emergency response measures trigger a transition to new transport systems? Exploring evidence and lessons from 55 US cities

Meredith Glaser et al.

Summary: This research inventories emergency response measures in the 55 largest cities of the US, and finds that several cities are using COVID conditions to experiment with new forms of street design. These cities excel in conveying a vision for the future, articulating implementation pathways, leveraging political capacity, and circulating information. Cities showing continued strength are focusing on evaluating the experiments, validating their feasibility, and integrating them into existing sustainability policies.

The life and death of residential dissonants in transit-oriented development: A discrete time survival analysis

Md. Kamruzzaman et al.

Summary: A study tracked 98 residents living in transit-oriented developments over nine years and found that about half of dissonants became consonants in just four years, while those with low educational status and born overseas were more likely to become dissonants. Transit-oriented developments have an autonomous effect on changing attitudes over time, and targeted policy interventions could speed up this process.
