Chitosan composites for thionine dye adsorption

Abdulhadi H. Almarri

Summary: Chitosan composites with carbon nanotube (Cs/CNT) and activated carbon (Cs/AC) were prepared and applied for the adsorption of thionine dye. The adsorption ability of Cs/AC was found to be the highest among the three adsorbents. The adsorption process of Cs, Cs/AC, and Cs/CNT was mainly attributed to physical adsorption, as indicated by the adsorption isotherm models.

Release of toxic methylene blue from water by mesoporous silicalite-1: characterization, kinetics and isotherm studies

Sabarish Radoor et al.

Summary: In this study, a mesoporous silicalite-1 was developed using CMC as a template for the removal of MB from aqueous solution. The synthesized silicalite-1 was characterized through various methods and the adsorption parameters for the removal of MB dye were investigated. The results showed that the developed silicalite-1 exhibited efficient removal of MB dye and maintained high removal efficiency even after multiple adsorption-desorption cycles.

Photocatalytic degradation of organic dye and tetracycline by ternary -Ag2O/AgBr-CeO2 photocatalyst under visible-light irradiation

Fu Su et al.

Summary: In this work, CeO2 nanosheets decorated with Ag2O and AgBr were successfully synthesized using a simple sediment-precipitation method. The ternary Ag2O/AgBr-CeO2 composite with a double Z-scheme structure showed enhanced photocatalytic performance due to the ability of Ag nanoparticles to reduce electron-hole recombination. The optimized Ag2O/AgBr-CeO2 photocatalysts exhibited high tetracycline degradation efficiency and stability, showing promise for applications in antibiotic wastewater purification.
