How siderophore production can influence the biocontrol activity of Aureobasidium pullulans against Monilinia laxa on peaches

Alessandra Di Francesco et al.

Summary: In this study, Aureobasidium pullulans strains L1 and L8 were shown to compete with Monilinia laxa for iron through the secretion of siderophores, preventing postharvest fruit decay of peaches. These strains demonstrated better efficacy in reducing M. laxa's growth and germination at lower iron concentrations, indicating a potential biocontrol solution for agricultural use.
