The relationship between children's temperament and fundamental movement skills mediated by autonomy and self-regulation

Yujin Jang et al.

Summary: This study examined the influence of children's temperament on fundamental movement skills, specifically locomotion skills and object-control skills. The results showed that high levels of emotionality and sociability were associated with higher levels of autonomy, self-regulation, and fundamental movement skills. The study also found that autonomy and self-regulation mediated the effects of temperament on locomotion skills, but not on object-control skills.

The increasing number of articles assessing exposure to mobile devices in recent years reflects a growing interest in the impact of screen time on young children.

The prevalence and socioeconomic determinants of undetected developmental delay in preschool-aged children in the northwest of Iran: a population-based study

Marjan Hosseinpour et al.

Summary: New estimates show that many children in low- and middle-income countries are at risk of developmental delay. This study in northwest Iran found that 13.98% of preschool-aged children have developmental delay, with higher rates in preterm children, single-child families, and the second socioeconomic status quantile. The study emphasizes the importance of early detection and intervention for developmental delay.
