Optimization of tungsten-doped high density carbon target in inertial confinement fusion

Liling Li et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of Si and W on the transmission of M-band x-ray and proposes an optimized design for a high density carbon target with low doping fraction and mass. Results show that Si-buried HDC sample's transmission flux decreases with buried depth, while W-buried HDC sample remains consistent. The 1D simulation results are in line with experimental findings, showing different characteristics in the transmission flux of Au M-band for Si and W buried HDC samples.

Two-dimensional time- and space-resolved diagnostic method for an integrated implosion process

Shijian Li et al.

Summary: The proposed method combines a CUP system with a simplified version of SSRFD to achieve two-dimensional time- and space-resolved diagnostics, showing significant improvement over traditional CUP systems. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the performance of the CUP system cooperating with SSRFD is superior to adding external devices, providing guidance for diagnostic experiment design in laser fusion research.

Converting existing optical detectors into fast x-ray detectors

K. L. Baker et al.

Summary: High-spatial-resolution imaging diagnostics with fast time resolution are necessary for burning plasmas created at advanced laser-fusion facilities. One solution to the challenge posed by extremely large neutron fluxes is to convert x-ray signals into the optical regime and process them in a shielded bunker.
