Interface-confined multi-layered reaction centers between Ce-MOFs and Fe3O4@C for heterogeneous electro-Fenton at wide pH 3-9: Mediation of Ce3+/Ce4+ and oxygen vacancy

Pei Su et al.

Summary: A bifunctional catalyst consisting of Ce-based metal-organic frameworks deposited on carbon encapsulated Fe3O4 particles (Ce-MOFs/Fe3O4@C) was prepared for heterogeneous electro-Fenton (EF). The catalyst exhibited high H2O2 generation efficiency and sulfamethazine removal performance, which can be attributed to the interface confinement, presence of oxygen vacancies, and electron transfer between Fe and Ce.

Ce-MOF with Intrinsic Haloperoxidase-Like Activity for Ratiometric Colorimetric Detection of Hydrogen Peroxide

Yanyan Cheng et al.

Summary: In this study, mixed-valence state Ce-MOF (MVCM) nanozymes with intrinsic haloperoxidase-mimicking activity were synthesized and demonstrated good performance in catalyzing oxidative reactions. A ratiometric colorimetric-sensing platform was developed based on MVCM's capability to quantify H2O2 with a low detection limit. The proposed haloperoxidase-mimicking mechanism of MVCM and its stronger binding affinity for H2O2 and NH4Br compared to other materials provide new insights for the future development of nanozymes in biosensing applications.

A novel copper-based metal-organic framework as a peroxidase-mimicking enzyme and its glucose chemiluminescence sensing application

Hongjing Yang et al.

Summary: The newly synthesized Cu-based metal-organic framework (Cu-MOF) exhibited high catalytic activity as a peroxidase-mimicking enzyme and demonstrated strong affinity towards hydrogen peroxide. The catalytic mechanism of Cu-MOF, primarily driven by cupric ions, was found to efficiently generate free radicals and facilitate electron transfer during reactions. Its high affinity for hydrogen peroxide made Cu-MOF an ideal catalyst for chemiluminescence reactions, thus enabling the development of a sensitive detection method for various substrates.

A novel bromelain-MnO2 biosensor for colorimetric determination of dopamine

Shimeng Liu et al.

Summary: A new colorimetric sensing method for determining dopamine in serum was developed using bromelain-templated MnO2 nanosheets. The method showed a linear relationship between absorbance values and dopamine concentrations in the range of 100 nM to 10.0 μM, with a limit of detection of 39.8 nM. This method was successfully applied in experiments with human serum samples and could accurately quantify dopamine content.
