Assessment of a modified renal angina index for AKI prediction in critically ill adults

Victor Ortiz-Soriano et al.

Summary: The adult mRAI score showed better performance than changes in creatinine for predicting AKI Stage >= 2 in critically ill adults. This tool is feasible for risk stratification of AKI in adult ICU patients.

Biomarker-Guided Risk Assessment for Acute Kidney Injury: Time for Clinical Implementation?

Christian Albert et al.

Summary: AKI is a common and serious complication in hospitalized patients, and the importance of early detection and personalized treatment has been emphasized. Studies have focused on the accuracy and clinical value of using NGAL, TIMP-2, and IGFBP7 for early diagnosis of AKI. In addition to enhancing the use of kidney injury biomarkers in kidney risk prediction, new phenotypes such as preclinical- and subclinical AKI have been identified.

Recalibration of the Renal Angina Index for Pediatric Septic Shock

Natalja L. Stanski et al.

Summary: The study found that the Renal Angina Index (RAI) is a sensitive and reliable tool for predicting severe AKI in children with septic shock. According to the results, recalibrating the RAI to include platelet count and setting a higher cutoff may improve the accuracy of prediction.
