Encoder-based weak fault detection for rotating machinery using improved Gaussian process regression

Zhipeng Ma et al.

Summary: An improved Gaussian process regression analysis is proposed for the weak fault detection of rotating machinery via encoder signal. This method enhances weak fault-related features, sets their confidence interval adaptively, and suppresses interference components. Simulated and experimental analyses show that the method can effectively identify early weak faults.

A SVM-based framework for fault detection in high-speed trains

Jie Liu et al.

Summary: The study integrates the weighted-feature strategy and the cost-sensitive learning effectively in a multi-kernel support vector machine model to address the challenges posed by between-class imbalance and heterogeneous signals. The experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and generalizability of the proposed method, outperforming benchmark methods in terms of both F-measure and G-mean. This shows the potential of combining weighted feature strategy, multiple kernel learning, and support vector machine in fault detection.
