High-Intensity Interval Training Improves Cardiac Autonomic Function in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Lucas Raphael Bento Silva et al.

Summary: This study compares the effects of different exercise modes on autonomic modulation in patients with type 2 diabetes. The results indicate that high intensity physical training, especially HIIT-30:30, has the potential to improve autonomic modulation.

HIGH-INTENSITY INTERVAL VS. CONTINUOUS ENDURANCE TRAINING: PREVENTIVE EFFECTS ON HORMONAL CHANGES AND PHYSIOLOGICAL ADAPTATIONS IN PREDIABETES PATIENTS

Saleh Safarimosavi et al.

Summary: The study showed that high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and isocaloric continuous endurance training (CETFAT) have similar effects on improving the insulin resistance index of prediabetes patients. Additionally, the intensity and type of exercise were found to be crucial factors in changing irisin and preptin concentrations.

Effectiveness of high-intensity interval training for weight loss in adults with obesity: a randomised controlled non-inferiority trial

Andrea D'Amuri et al.

Summary: This study compared the effectiveness of 12-week HIIT and MICT for weight loss in obese adults, and found that both training modes showed similar effects on weight loss and improvement in cardiovascular risk factors, but HIIT resulted in a larger increase in cardiorespiratory fitness over a shorter period of time.
