Summary: In this study, azithromycin chitosan coated niosomes (AZM-CTS-NSM) were formulated, optimized, and characterized as a novel colloidal system to improve precorneal residence time, eye permeation, and bioavailability. The optimized AZM-CTS-NSM demonstrated prolonged in vitro release behavior and enhanced corneal permeability, with minimal ocular irritation effects and significantly increased AZM concentration in rabbit eyes compared to commercial drops.

Summary: This study successfully developed a novel derivative of polyethyleneimine (PEI) for efficient delivery of TGF beta siRNA and inhibition of CXCR4 to treat CCl4-induced liver fibrosis in a mouse model. The results demonstrated that the PEI-Cyclam derivative could reduce inflammation, collagen deposition, and cell proliferation, showing significant anti-fibrotic effects in liver fibrosis.

The optimized nanoparticulate system showed sustained release profile and synergistic effect in wound healing by reducing inflammation, inducing blood vessels and fibroblast proliferation, and promoting collagen fibers deposition. Further clinical investigation is needed to explore the potential benefits of this system in diabetic patients.
