A randomized pilot study using calcitriol in hospitalized COVID-19 patients

Yasmine M. Elamir et al.

Summary: A trial investigating the use of calcitriol in hospitalized COVID-19 patients showed improvement in oxygenation and higher percentage of patients discharged without needing oxygen supplementation in the calcitriol group. Additionally, patients in the calcitriol group had shorter hospital stays. These results suggest potential benefits of calcitriol therapy and support the need for larger randomized trials.

Summary: This systematic review investigates the efficacy of curcumin supplementation in COVID-19 patients. The findings suggest that curcumin supplementation can significantly decrease symptoms, duration of hospitalization, and deaths. It also shows that curcumin helps balance pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory factors, improving the cytokine storm effect. Overall, curcumin supplementation may offer a safe and effective option for improving COVID-19 disease outcomes.
